Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. Matthew 20.28
We strongly believe that belonging to a church family involves 4 connecting actions from family members: Meeting regularly, Praying, Serving, and Giving. Doing these things do not make us a Christian, only faith in Jesus can do that; Rather they are what Jesus says should be our response to God for what He has already done for us.
Grace Church is ‘a family to belong to, not a service to attend’. Whatever our experience of family life is or was, families work best when everybody pitches in, does their bit, and plays their part.
God has given each of us unique gifts and abilities, and the Bible teaches that it is in the family of the church that we should use them, to build each other up, to grow the family, and to bring glory to God. At GCB, therefore, we don’t want anybody who considers themselves to be a member of our family to just turn up, spectate, and go away again. We all have a part to play.
The lists of ways to get involved is long and varied; music, children’s work, being a listening ear, leading a service, checking we’ve turned all the lights out and flushed the chains! And much, much more. Young or old, very young or very old… we’ll support you to get fully involved, using what God has given you, as we serve you with what God has given us.
